Saddleworth 3 peaks for Teenager Cancer Trust!

Brookland School, is known for its community involvement. The school encourages its pupils to be active members of society, and often initiates fundraising events for charity. Recently, they raised funds for the very worthy cause Teenager Cancer Trust, and what’s more, the children took an active part in completing the Saddleworth Three Peaks. The fundraising event was a resounding success, and deserve to get public recognition and praise!

The Saddleworth Three Peaks is a gruelling trek of about 11 miles and covers three peaks in the Saddleworth district of Greater Manchester. It’s meant for experienced hikers and is quite challenging even for them. However, the pupils of Brookland School, aged between 11 and 16 years, took on the challenge and successfully completed it. They completed it despite the horrendous weather. It’s a testament to their resilience and determination.

The funds raised by the pupils of Brookland School amounted to £659!!! The fundraising event was a success because of the collective efforts of the children, teachers, and parents. Everyone involved deserves applause for their time and effort in making the event a success.

It’s essential to recognize that charity events not only raise funds for a good cause, but they also give children the opportunity to learn essential life skills. Taking part in charity events teaches children to be empathetic, caring, responsible and gives them a sense of purpose. It enables them to understand the impact of their actions on society and to develop a strong sense of social responsibility. The pupils of Brookland School are an excellent example of this.

Fundraising events for charity are a great way to build a sense of community within a school. It’s a way to bring like-minded people together, increase their engagement with each other, and work towards a common goal. In this case, the pupils of Brookland School bonded with their teachers and parents and created a platform for an enriching collaboration. It’s a memorable experience that will stay with them throughout their lives.

Kudos to the pupils of Brookland School for successfully completing the Saddleworth Three Peaks trek and raising funds for charity. It’s not an easy feat and reflects their grit, determination, and community spirit. We need more such initiatives where children can learn and contribute to society simultaneously. This charity event by Brookland School is an inspiring example of how schools can encourage pupils to be socially responsible and enrich their lives in the process. Let’s hope that many more schools follow suit and organize such initiatives in the future!

We look forward to hearing what the pupils of Brookland School are organising next!
